Canadian Tenor Justin Pierre Simard has been lauded as “…not only outstanding vocally, but is gifted with great timing and comic good sense: subtle, but projected to the back of the hall.”  Currently based out of Prince Edward Island, he has been navigating a fach change between baritone and tenor upon the advice of members of the Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio audition panel.

A graduate of Dalhousie University’s Music and Theatre programmes, Justin's recent highlights include Guglielmo (Cosi fan Tutte) with the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, Dulcamara (L’Elisir d’Amore) with the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy,  Bartolo (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Alfonso (Cosi fan Tutte) with the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar. Past credits include Bartolo (Le Nozze di Figaro) with the Center for Opera Studies in Italy, Ben (The Telephone), Bob (The Old Maid and the Thief), Umberto (La Serva Padrona), and Herr von Klunker (zehn Madchen mit kein Mann) with the Dalhousie Opera Workshop.

In addition to his operatic pursuits, Justin is also a freelance writer, playwright, director, private music instructor, and a regular performer at venues across Prince Edward Island.
